There are also some phones that were made to be development environment restricted, which unfortunately means this setting makes it worse. NOTE: As per more research, some roots and custom ROMs will allow the app better access to phone resources and this may not change a thing for you. "Small window" issue - disable "Android System WebView" in your Application Manager under "All" tab.Enjoy a faster phone - more noticeable on games / image heavy apps.Settings > Developer Options > Force GPU Rendering - enable.Tap Build Number section until countdown is done - enabled Developer Options.Settings > About Device / Phone > Build Number.ahem It's seriously not noticeable, because you'll do less waiting, thus less screen-on time for stamina gamers.Īpple guys, you technically have this option on from stock, and beyond custom firmware, I don't think you can turn it off. But you know, they are saving you battery life, even if you wait more, because they're saving you battery, they're savin. In my testing, only 5% per full charge with screen always on (Galaxy S5). My suspicion is that because this option has the possibility to drain your battery faster. Why is this even off? BTW, this setting makes nearly everything faster in your phone, albeit graphic-light areas aren't very noticeable on high-end phones. This will force 2D graphics to be pushed to the GPU so your CPU can do the work it should do faster. That CPU should really just be doing calculations, transmitting wireless info, running background processes, etc. Why is this happening to our Android phones? 2D Games tend to use a lot of high-quality images, not just FFRK, and that eats a lot of CPU power. ![]() I believe the community has grown since the linked post and they should get a heads up. ![]() I'm posting this based on a comment I made, and more importantly the responses I received.
